The visual differences between the iPhone 15 series and this year’s iPhones are already apparent, thanks to the publication of four additional dummy models. Apple has not only increased the size of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max compared to the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, but it has also given them distinct camera modules. Along with the Action Button that is currently on the iPhone 16 series, Apple’s long-rumored Capture Button is also visible.
It is probably going to be five months before Apple releases the iPhone 16 series. However, it appears that leakers are already in agreement over the smartphones that Apple intends to sell under the iPhone 16 moniker. As of right now, however, it looks like Apple will directly replace the iPhone 15 with the iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max with the iPhone 16.
In order to achieve this, Sonny Dickson has since released images of Aluminium mockups of each of the four iPhone 16 variants. Third-party vendors usually use the dummies embedded below to test accessories before the next iPhone launch, without having to wait for retail devices to ship. Although it’s unclear where these dummies came from, the designs appear to be consistent with past leaks and Rumours. Since Apple’s Action Button is limited to the ‘Pro’ models of the iPhone 15 series, it is present on all models.
The four gadgets also feature Apple’s first “taptic” solid state button, the new Capture Button, which is said to be pressure sensitive. It is said that because the Capture Button supports gesture controls, it will also be able to do other camera functions, such as zooming. It appears that Apple will eventually go back to using a vertical dual camera setup, but only on non-Pro versions, as it did with the iPhone X. Additionally, it is reported that non-Pro versions are marginally smaller than Pro models. The diagonal width of this year’s Pro and Pro Max iPhones is 0.2 inches, measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively.
