Al Nassr manager Luis Castro has now revealed that Ronaldo is the final part of his recovery from injury to join the group. Castro also said, as quoted by Goal, that he is hoping the Portuguese star can start working with the team soon.
“We will not see [Messi vs Ronaldo], Ronaldo is in the final part of his recovery to join the group. We hope that in the next few days he can start working with the team. He will be absent from the game,” said Castro.
Inter Miami clash
Al Nassr’s manager Luis Castro has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘last dance’ with Lionel Messi will not be happening as the Portuguese superstar has been ruled out of the clash against Inter Miami.
There will be no reunion between rivals Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the Portuguese superstar has been ruled out of Al Nassr’s clash against Inter Miami on January 31.
Inter Miami and Al Nassr are currently competing in the Riyadh Season Cup and the event was being billed as the ‘last dance’ between Messi and Ronaldo. Both men had met in a friendly between PSG and Riyadh All-Stars a year ago.
Ronaldo had suffered an injury ahead of Al Nassr’s China tour and the club was forced to cancel the whole thing. The former Real Madrid star would even release a statement saying that he was sad that the injury came at the wrong time.
“I feel sad. I know you are sad too, especially the people who love Cristiano, but we have to see this in a good way. We have not cancelled the game, we want to push for the game and be back here. We will be back. I want to play for you. Don’t be sad because I am sad, and I hope you understand the circumstances of a football player.” Cristiano Ronaldo said in his statement.
