The SEL trim offers a variety of standard equipment that is omitted from the base SE. All Kona Hyundai Electric are front-wheel drive and powered by a single electric motor. The entry-level offering makes 133 horsepower but a more powerful 201-hp version is also available.
The Hyundai Kona Electric Car Offers Two types of Battery Packs.
The base Kona Electric uses a 48.6-kWh unit with an Calculated range of about 329 Km. A larger 64.8-kWh battery is available and increases the Calculated driving range to approximately 418.429 Km. Hyundai claims that the Kona Electric can recharge its battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in 40 minutes during DC charging.
Design : Interior and Cargo
The New Hyundai Kona Electric delivers a Missive improvement in fit and finish for the new generation. Hyundai has opened up the interior space with a floating horizontal center pad to remove some of the partition between the front passenger seats. Ambient lighting also brings a bit of mood and personalization to the cabin which helps illuminate the new Kona’s refreshed cockpit design. Unlike other EVs, the Kona Electric offers only a small front trunk suitable for storing the SUV’s portable charging cable. Fortunately, there’s a very large cargo area behind the rear seats.
Driver-Assistance Features and Safety
Hyundai hasn’t released officially of the all Kona Electric’s standard and optional features. But we doubt it will come with the same driver-assistance features as the gasoline-powered Kona. That package of features includes automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring, but other technology like a driver-monitoring system and a self-parking feature are also available.
