Samsung on Thursday announced a 4G variant of its popular Galaxy M14 with very minimal hardware adjustments in India. The smartphone comes with a Snapdragon processor, 50MP triple camera setup, a 90Hz display, and much more. Let’s find out what is the reason behind bringing the 4G version despite 5G model being available and buying a 4G phone in 2024 does make sense.
Samsung Galaxy M14 4G Key Features:
The design of the Samsung Galaxy M14 4G is quite identical to the 5G version. Coming to the specifications, the phone offers a 6.7-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The handset comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage.
The Galaxy M14 4G comes with Android 13 OS, while the 5G version is updated to Android 14. The handset packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. The phone has a 50MP primary camera and a pair of 2MP cameras. The 4GB + 64GB version of the Galaxy M14 4G is launched at Rs 8,499, while the 6GB + 128GB variant will cost Rs 11,499. The device can be purchased via Amazon India.
Although the phone misses out on 5G connectivity, it has a large display, long-lasting battery, and capable processor to handle your day-to-day usage and gaming as well. Now, you don’t need to pay a huge amount to get a 5G phone. But you might have to compromise with specifications. To offer 5G under the Rs 10k segment, companies are cutting out on the specs. The 5G connectivity also drains more battery than the 4G. We still make calls through 4G connectivity, so, your smartphone is connected to two different networks, which increases battery drain.
I think if you prioritize good hardware and long-lasting battery life, considering a 4G phone can still be worth it. Another thing the 5G speed varies on the place you stay, so, if you are considering a 5G phone over 4G, you can check the speed of 5G connectivity in your area.
