Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya
It released in theatres on Friday. After a decent start at the box office with Rs 6.70 crore, the film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya recorded a jump of almost 40 per cent on the second day. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the romantic-comedy minted Rs 9.50 crore on Saturday. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 16.20 crore. The film had an overall 22.16% Hindi occupancy on Saturday.

Chennai recorded the highest occupancy with 65 percent, followed by cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. Also starring Dharmendra, Dimple Kapadia, and Rakesh Bedi in pivotal roles, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is helmed by debut directors, Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah.
The movie tells a unique love story in the world of Artificial Intelligence. Shahid plays a scientist who develops feelings for an intelligent female robot, played by Kriti. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has recorded the highest opening day (overseas) for Shahid, grossing over $700k.
Shahid’s last theatrical release
Jersey (2022), which also starred Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur, tanked at the box office as it opened with Rs 2.93 crore and ended its run in the theatres with Rs 19.68 cr. Even Kriti’s last release, Ganpath, opposite Amitabh Bachchan and Tiger Shroff, couldn’t pull people to the theatres.

In her review, she noted Shahid Kapoor’s performance, highlighting his delivery of some of the film’s snappiest lines. Gupta also praised Kapoor’s ability to transcend his hero-status and evoke memories of his standout performances in previous hits like ‘Jab We Met.’ While the film’s box office numbers reflect its appeal to audiences, critics remain divided on its overall execution and storytelling.
