The Google Tech Phone app seems to be experimenting with integrating WhatsApp calls and simplifying the process of initiating video calls with contacts. For some users, the Google Phone app, commonly used as the dialer on Pixels and other devices, is introducing two new functionalities. The first feature, as observed by @Kishore9196 on Twitter/X, involves support for WhatsApp calls. This addition enables the Google Phone app to display past calls from WhatsApp alongside regular phone calls. Although this capability has been technically feasible for a few years, this marks the first instance of WhatsApp showing indications of utilising it.
